Seine is calling me !

Every city has a sex and an age which have nothing to do with demography.  Rome is feminine.  So is Odessa.  London is a teenager, an urchin, and this hasn’t changed since the time of Dickens.  Paris, I believe, is a man in his twenties in love with an older woman.

Paris is always a good idea

Paris her zaman mukemmel bir fikirdir. Her gittginizde sizi karsilayan bu guzel sehrin hic degismedigini ve her seferinde ayni seylerle karsilasacaginizi dusunerek o ucaga binersiniz ama Paris her defasinda sizi yaniltmayi bilir. Her gidis bir surpriz demektir. Bu kez ise Paris bahar coskusuna burunmustu. Ilik ama icinizi urperten bir ruzgar, cicek acmis agaclar, biraz yagmur ve dahasi... Bana ise bu guzel gunun tadini cikartmak dusmustu. Chagall sergisi oldugunu ogrendigimde attim kendimi disariya ve kendimi Luksemburg Bahcesinde buldum. Sonra kendime su soruyu sordum  "daha once neden gelmemisim ki ben buraya ?"

Paris is always a good idea. Each time when you take that plane , you think that nothing changes in Paris and everything stays same there. But each time Paris knows how to make you surprise. This time it was wrapped with the spring. Soft but chilly wind, blossomed trees, rain a little bit and more... So, it's time to enjoy with this beautiful spring day. When I heard the Chagall exhibition, I sticked myself out and I found myself in Jardin de Luxembourg. Then I asked myself : "why I've never been here before?"

Venice; City of Bridges

 

Bu gunlerde Jeanette Winterson'un "The Passion" adli romanini okuyorum. Okuyaniniz varsa bilirsiniz kitabin bir bolumu Venedik'te geciyor ve farkli anlatimi sayesinde adeta sihirli ve fantastik Venedik sokaklarinda buluyorsunuz kendinizi. Tam Venedik'e ucarken ben tam bu bolumu okuyordum ki su satirlar ilgimi cekti ve hemen altini cizdim ve yeni bir Venedik postumun da alt yapisini hemencecik kafamda olusturmus oldum. Koprulerin sehri Venedik....

Nowadays I'm reading a novel The Passion by Jeanette Winterson. The ones who already have read will remember that one part of the novel takes place in Venice and thanks to its magical language, you find yourself fantastic streets of Venice. While in plane to Venice, I was just reading that part and those lines I worte above took my attention and highlited. Also it gave me an idea about enabling this post. Here ! Here it is Venice; city of bridges...

At the beginning you stop in every bridge and want to take a photo but then you are so getting used to view that it manages to make you part of it. 

 

Stopped at Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari to see wonderful architecture  and the "Assumption of the Virgin" by Titian.

And I believe, we deserve the best "gelato" in Venice
